Sunday, 21st Aug 2011, though started with normal routine but ended with a complete unprecedented and life-time experience. Whole nation which is assumed as a most diverse nation is singing in a single tone and that is for making BETTER(nothing is perfect..every time we have scope of improvement) india. Exasperated by back-to-back scams by politicians, every single citizen of india is now asking for something that can make india a bit better, safe and less corrupt place.
As a responsible citizen of india, how can we show aberration. We had plans to contribute but looking for a moment.In a national movement for india's second freedom, any news channel couldn't miss this golden opportunity and i completely accept i m big fan of these news channels(esp TIMES NOW). As soon as Mr. Kejriwal from Anna's team announced that today we will have march from India Gate to Ramlila Maidaan @ 5 PM, i instantly decided that yes this is the right time to go beyond blame and talk about muddy politics, this is the time to act and show your strength.(Its NOW or NEVER)
Me along with 2 other room mated Anshul and Rajesh,left for India gate and reached there @ 4:30 PM. What we see there can't be described in words. I have never seen such a huge enthusiastic, energetic crowd.Everyone was filled with anger against corruption,scams and especially with the congress government. I have read and heard a lot that india is most diverse country but seeing the ambiance there it proved completely wrong. People from every corner were having Anna's cap,shouting slogans in same tone with a single motto.People from every profession, caste, color, geography were there and seemed united to fight against corruption.I don't know what will the final outcome, but i am glad to see that yes still we are ONE to fight against anything and still there are very few people who are above caste,color,location.It gives us a ray of hope that we wont accept everything imposed on them.(But we need a leader who can show direction).
Rally started @ 5:30 PM from India Gate with slogans like "Vande Mataram", "Bharat Maata ki Jai", "Inqlaab Zindabaad". Everyone was shouting, singing and dancing.Some interesting slogans which showed anger againse govt were like "Sonia gandhi bharat chodo...italy jaake dhaaba kholo", "Manmohan 1 kaam karo...chudi pehan k dance karo", "Saara yuva yhan k..Rahul gandhi khan h", "Gali ka kutta kaisa ho...kapil sibbal jaisa ho", "Sonia jiski mummy h...wo sarkaar nikammi h". Other slogans which praised Anna's team for their work were "Desh ka beta kaisa ho...Kejriwaal jaisa ho", "Desh ki beti kaisi ho... Kiran bedi jaisi ho".
Rally cont for 6-7 KM and as everyone was heading towards Ramlila maidaan, they were becoming louder to protest but as all were supporting Gandhian movement, no traffic hiccups on the way.On the way people were contributing in different manner. Some were distributing biscuits, bananas, water pouches , tea while other were helping to make rally smoother and peaceful.
Finally we reached Ramlila maidaan @ 7:00 PM. There were around more than 1 lac people on the ground and everyone shouting "ANNA ZINDABBAD", "Anna tum sangharsh Karo, hum tumhare sath h". The crowd was not ready to relent in any case.Prashant Bhushan was explaining was are the key differences between govt's lokpal(read Jokepal) and civil society's Janlokpal bill.
I must say Anna and their team is one step ahead of govt and they are well prepared this time and want to implement a strong anti-corruption bill which can at least cut down no of cases to 50%. i am completely optimistic that govt has to accept what public of india is asking for.I am not much aware of technicalities of law but as i have gone through both the bill, in my understanding govt's bill motivate corruption only while Anna's team bill after few minor changes can be implemented easily.
My appeal to govt is that please be flexible and change with the time. Now its not much easy to fool them and impose what you want. Consider what people want and obviously you can suggest your suggestion but don't carry too much ego with you, otherwise you have to face the consequences in next election..
Hope govt will listen to us and time for revolution has come. I hope at least youth power who have strong will power to change the world will remain united and fight for every cause.
